"Registru Centras" Center of Registers



ESTABLISHED
On July 8 1997 under Resolution No 742 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.

STATUS
A public entity of limited civil liability incorporated on the basis of the State-owned property. It belongs to the State by the right of ownership*. Property and assets transferred to the Centre of Register and acquired by it are possessed, used and disposed of in trust.

MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Centre of Registers administers the Real Property Cadastre and Register, the Address Register, the Register of Legal Entities; creates, implements, develops and manages information systems of the mentioned and other registers, keeps register archives.

MANAGEMENT
Management bodies of the Centre of Registers are as follows: an institution exercising the rights and obligations of an owner, a collegial management body of the Centre of Registers - the Board and a single-person management body - the Director General. The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania is the institution exercising the rights and obligations of the owner of the Centre of Registers.

*Interesting Point: Currently not receiving any funding from the state.
